1 full day in Honolulu - Early July

I have 2 nights in Honolulu in between flights home early July and want to know what is the best things to see in one day.. Never actually been to Hawaii. Only been to airport, connecting flights to and from Canada.

I have the options of making it into 2 or 3 whole days, if that would be better.

I am thinking of staying at the Hostel in Waikiki to save $$$$$.. Is it ok?

1 full day in Honolulu - Early July

If you have the time, definitely make it three whole days if you can - and you will then have a bit more time to see some of the great sites on Oahu. I would do the three full days and hire a car for these three days, or at least two of them. (Although if this is not an option, the city bus service is excellent - goes all over the city for $2 per journey)

Please provide a bit more info about things you are interested in for ideas of what to do.

I have never stayed in a hostel but they have reviews on here so search for the best one - also may be worth checking out some of the vacation rental sites to see how cheap those are, depending on the minimum nights stay - for maybe $40 more per night, could be a lot nicer accommodation.
