My husband and I are headed to Kauai with family for a memorial for my grandparents in mid July of this year (we don%26#39;t have any family living in Hawaii). The family has a condo rented for most of the time but I%26#39;m also researching possible hotels, condos or B%26amp;Bs to stay at for a few days to get away with my husband.
Any recommendations you have are greatly appreciated. We%26#39;re in our early 30s, no kids, hanging out on the beach and snorkeling would be our main activities. Budget options are preferred but we%26#39;re willing to spend more if we can find something ideal.
So far places I%26#39;ve seen require a week stay - we%26#39;d only be doing 2 or 3 nights for this part of our stay. Help!
The family will be in the Kapaa area, but recommendations for anywhere on the island is fine. We%26#39;re also looking into Maui and Ohau since I%26#39;ve only ever done Kaui and husband has only done the big island.
I%26#39;ll dig through the forum for other posts but would love any input you%26#39;d like to post here.
Thanks for reading!
Hotel Recommendations? Early 30s, no kids, on a budget.
We really enjoyed this place last summer, not right on the beach, but close and centrally located to everything. It is on the river and that was a lot of fun. Candace is great.

Thank you for the recommendation, that place looks like heaven! Unfortunately, it%26#39;s booked for a part of the week we%26#39;d be there, so not an option for us. .
I liked staying at the Hanalei Surfboard House, which you can find here: http://www.hanaleisurfboardhouse.com/
or on VRBO.com
It is a block from Hanalei Bay and very low-key. It would be a fun change from a condo, and the north coast is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, funky restaurants, and general exploring. There is a lovely charm to actually staying in Hanalei.
In July, I%26#39;d recommend the north shore if you want to hang out on the beach and snorkel. Even though many places do have a one week minimum stay, you can often check out their on-line calendars and see if they have 2 or 3 nights that aren%26#39;t booked between two other bookings. If that%26#39;s the case, most owners will be happy to rent for a shorter period.
Check out Princeville condos on vrbo.com or http://www.summitpacificinc.com/.In particular, you might check out Sealodge if you%26#39;re on a budget. The units are fairly small, but have great ocean views and they are quite reasonably priced.
I would echo desertbeachlover exactly - can%26#39;t hurt to try to book something.
I also use www.vrbo.com and

good luck! :)
Look at studios or hotel rooms at HBR. 30 minutes from Kapaa but worlds away. Budget friendly with a resort feel.

Sealodge is an option but only 2 or 3 units have a/c. Great views.
Another favorite of mine is Kuhio Shores in Poipu.
