Country Goose Bed & Breakfast

Looking at staying 2 nights in Volcano. Has anyone stayed here before and could you give me rough idea of price per night - the website does not state this, or I could have missed it altogther.

Any other recommendations of a B%26amp;B that is inexpensive would be appreciated.

Country Goose Bed %26amp; Breakfast

Hi pebroruf,

Last August we stayed at Hale Anuhea one of the Country Goose rental cottages and loved it. I don%26#39;t remember, however, how much we paid per day. You may need to check directly with Joan, the owner of the bed and breakfast and the manager of the rental homes.

The Country Goose consists of the bed and breakfast as well as a number of other cottages. In the dining room of her b and b, Joan serves a fantastic complimentary breakfast for the b and b guests as well as for those renting the cottages. Hubby, son, and I still rave about her bountiful and scrumptious food.

Here%26#39;s a link for the cottages in case you haven%26#39;t seen this site.

Hope this helps.

Have a great time. We loved Volcano and the Country Goose.

Thanks for the link to the website. The prices are there - I must have missed it when I was first looking at it.

Hi again Pebroruf,

Glad the prices were on the website. Good luck with your decision. You won%26#39;t go wrong with the Country Goose.

BTW, I%26#39;ve seen a number of recommendations on this forum for My Island Bed and Breakfast. I can%26#39;t comment on it, being that we didn%26#39;t stay there.

Here%26#39;s the link.

Have fun planning.

THANKS!. I%26#39;ll be looking into this link as well.

BTW, what sights/tours should we take having only 4 full days and this being our first time.

Hi pebroruf,

This link to a recent thread about the top three places to see on the BI may prove helpful for you. All of the posters in the tread had great ideas.

In the Hilo/Volcano area, Hubby, son, and I really loved Volcanoes National Park, (and if you go to the lava-entry-point into the ocean, be aware that it%26#39;s about an hour drive each way to/from Volcano; Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens (near Hilo), a sight-seeing drive north on the magnificent coastline. On the west (Kona) side: Place of Refuge and snorkeling.

Perhaps the regulars and DEs can chime in with suggestions about what to do with four days (is it four days total for the BI? So two days in Volcano area and two days somewhere else?)

If you don%26#39;t get this question answered sufficiently (being that this thread is related to the Country Goose rather than activities, you may want to repost with a different topic title.)

Have fun. No matter what you do/see on the Big Island, you%26#39;ll be amazed at its natural and diverse beauty.

Thanks so much for all your input. It%26#39;s greatly appreciated.

Dear Vancouver:

Yep, My Island B%26amp;B is pretty good for budget travelers. I stayed in the In Law room w/ private bath starts at $105/night, pretty cozy for two.

Downsides: Gets a bit cold at night no heat in the house so bring sweaters %26amp; sweat pants. Some noise from other parts of the house. If other guest travelers bug you then you are just crabby, ha :)

Upsides: Nice hostess, security lock w/ custom code, great continental breakfast buffet, pretty gardens to roam, a stone%26#39;s throw to the Park, one night stay is possible, communal room w/ T.V. and coffee service gives you a place to hang out at night.

They fill up on regular basis so don%26#39;t call at the last minute.

Enjoy, TheodoreJay
