Timeshare presentation freebies

Hi all,

We are coming to Hawaii during the second week of May. We will staying in oahu for 4 days. I read in some forums that they will give freebies if we attend a timeshare presentation. Can you guys let me know where i can get information about these timeshare. I have attended couple of timeshare presentations and have avoided them successfully.

Any help would be really useful in saving some bucks.

Timeshare presentation freebies

Just walk up and down the street. They will be offering you free shows, etc. Also, many of the hotels have ';help'; desks that will help you to your nearest timeshare deal. You won%26#39;t have any trouble finding them!!

Timeshare presentation freebies

you really wont save anything.... the will jack up the prices and disount them for you to appear good..

its what you can get on line. And you loose about 3 hours of your vactaion....

Many times the freebe is $100 off in resort credit if you buy so much....

And the now have qualifications such as own a home, earn over $75,000 a year, attend with your spouse, etc. If you fib and dont qualify they can legaly bill you the full rate of the activites they gave you a discount on..... they take your credit card and you sign a contract to complete to their satisfaction the full sales presentation..

Its a total rip..... you trying to rip them off and they trying to rip you off.... and they do it 8 hours a day, 365 days a year....who do you thing has the advantage......Its like going to a used car lot for your vacation.....really

Did it once. Would not do it again. Waste of everyone%26#39;s time.

Since both spouses have to attend, try some math. Add up your 2 airfares, lodging cost, car rental cost, taxi to/from home airport or parking there. This is your fixed COST OF BEING IN HAWAII. Divide by number of waking hours you have in Hawaii. This is what you are paying to be there each waking hour.

Now, how long is a timeshare presentation? How much TOTAL time does going to one take, counting getting there early? Multiply that times your cost/hour of BEING THERE. Do you want to pay that much to sit thru the presentation to get the freebie? It%26#39;s not free!!! You are paying for your time and you could be doing something else during that time.

Only you know.

We%26#39;ve never been asked to give them a credit card.(that sounds a little goofy) Over the years we%26#39;ve received %26#39;copter rides, meals and even cash. Not a bad deal.[%26#39;]

Thanks a lot for the info guys.

I just wanted to get a free helicopter ride.

I am a little greedy.. aint i?

There%26#39;s no ';free'; helicopter ride, if you have to earn it by spending precious vacation hours attending a sales presentation you have no intention of buying.

We just arrived home yesterday and we had done a Wyndham timeshare presentation on Thursday. You do have to give them your credit card and drivers licence when you sign in. You will also have to give them a $20 bill at the first sign in when you get your appointment time, which you will get back at the end of the presentation. Wyndham gives out four $25 coupons that can be used at all outrigger hotel based activities as well as several other stores and and activities in the Wiakiki area. I%26#39;m not sure the $100 you get from this will be enough for a helicopter ride. Both you and your spouse will have to attend this, and if you count your time in paradise as money save your self the aggravation. These sales people use very high pressure sales approach.

This along with a much more aggresive approach to up selling you everywhere in Wiakiki. Our family goes to Wiakiki every year and the aggressive nature of everyone trying to get you into there place of business over the previous years was more than a little aggrevating. We had everything from the 15% tip already added to the dinner bill to street perfomers telling you how much you should give them! Our cab driver had only had 2 fares prior to picking us up at the airport at 3 PM and he started at 6 AM ! So you can see the world economy is even hitting Hawaii.

Thanks Duded for comfirming the credit card requirement

The time share folks are no longer giving discounts or anything on a Helicopter as far as I know. Several years ago there was a fatal Helo cash on Kauia and all the passengers were on time share discounts.... there was a law suit... the result was that the time share folks quit any association with timeshares........

Since you get $100 off a 210 to 450 Heli tour.... woopie.... consider wasited over $150 in vacation time... to get 100 off, Well pardner, onLine the 450 tour can be had for 380 and the 210 for $165

So ,you could have saved 45 on line.... no sales time

Add $150 for vacation time... and your discount Helo( they dont ever give totaly free ticket...) ride that would have cost $165 on line.... cost you 110+ 150= $260.00 for a $165 tour......

Man thats one heck of a deal..... Why ,thats only $50 over full list price!!!......what a deal.... and you wasted 1/2 of the day, indeed.... you are schrewd

I don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;ve all changed, but about a year ago, we did attend a timeshare presentation in Waikiki. We got free tickets to that magic show (I believe it was magic) at the Beachcomber as well as free tickets to a dinner cruise. And we were in and out of that timeshare presentation in 2 hours. The salesman we had was pretty cool though. He basically told us up front that he knows most people (including us) just come for the freebies, which was totally cool with him. He said ust let him do his spiel and say yes or no. That was it. When we said he no, he just said OK!!

Again, I don%26#39;t know if all timeshare presentations are like this or if they%26#39;ve changed, but I actually thought it wasn%26#39;t bad.

    1. You probably have heard of these sorts of timeshare promotions before. Why would a timeshare resort give you a free weekend in a wonderful destination for free, or for a very low price? The answer is simple: because there will be some strings attached. That means that you will have to sit through one of their timeshare presentations, and their main goal is to get you to buy a timeshare ownership. http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/162-timeshare-deals/
