Construction in Poipu area?

I have heard about a lot of construction going on in the Poipu area. We had booked our vacation for late May, staying at the Sheraton Poipu. Does anyone kinow if construction noise, dust, etc. would be a problem around that area?

At one time fairly recently we had about 11 large construction projects about to start here in the Po%26#39;ipu area -- but the current economy has put the stop or sloooow down on almost all of them.

There are only 2 active right now in this area - the Kukui%26#39;ula Shopping Mall is actually almost finished and is supposed to be opening late this summer. It is on the corner of Po%26#39;ipu and Lawai Roads.

The other is Koloa Landing Development - a 25 acre luxury condo development that is in full swing - it is on Po%26#39;ipu and Kapili Roads - and while you will drive by it on your way in and out of the Sheraton, the noise factor shouldn%26#39;t concern you there at all- they are concentrating right now on the 3 or 4 story buildings going up close to Waikomo Stream Villas - on the opposite end of the project from the Sheraton.

You should be fine at the Sheraton.
