Maui in Late May

Aloha Maui Experts,

I seek your advice for a late-May vacation in Maui. This is my second visit to Hawaii (been to Big Island and Kaui) and am looking for a nice, quiet and relaxed vacation along the lines of Kaui. The duration is about 4-5 days, willing to spend around $200/night for hotel. Proximity to a clean beach and good spa is must. Driving is no problem, will be renting a car.

Please let me know the locations and hotels that would match my criteria.

Thanks in Advance.

Look at maui Kaanapali Villas.

These may be more than $200/night, but there may be some %26#39;specials%26#39;: The Prince, The Ritz, Sheraton.

You could rent a ondo in South Kihei or Wailea for under $200/night and book spa time at nearby Grand Wailea or Four Seasons, etc.

';quiet and relaxed'; is a description that is going to vary amongst personal lifestyles, to me it says Maui Prince hotel, South Kihei or Wailea condo. Our favorite condo property in South Kihei is Maui Kamaole, lovely landscaping, two pools and not at all cramped, the location is great and the units are very spacious. Wailea Ekahi, the Palms, Diamond Wailea, perhaps Kihei Surfside.

';Late May'; - if it is over Memorial Day will be busier, but otherwise not yet family vacation time so perhaps a bit quieter overall than say June.

In West Maui the Napili area (but most units don%26#39;t have a/c so that leaves the possibility of noise transferance - or even Kahana would most likely be quieter than Kaanapali or Lahaina, but the Sheraton is located on the north side of Black Rock and is a large property that might provide what you seek with close access to much. Uncertain of their current specials, they have been offering some excellent deals though.

If you have not reserved your car yet, do so ASAP.
