eating at honolulu airport

Our flight leaves at 7am from HNL, can anyone tell me if there are any restaurants open at 5:30am when we will need to check in and if so what type of food is available.

All will be fast food...Mc Donalds style stuff a starbucks.... this is in the main terminal not the interisland one

Is this a flight home or interisland?

Don%26#39;t do it... unless you enjoy spending $7 for a cup of coffee and a muffin (the ';special'; advertised by Starbucks) or $15 for two sandwiches and two drinks at Burger King. Actually, that early in the AM Burger King will be serving stuff like french toast fingers.

My recommendation is that you swing by Zippy%26#39;s on Nimitz Hwy on your way to the airport and either eat there or get take-out. Otherwise, in the main terminal (Hawaiian interisland/mainland flights and shuttle pick-up location for the overseas terminal) you%26#39;ll have 3 food counters plus Starbucks. The counters normally serve general American food (roast chicken, ribs, mashed potato, etc), Burger King or Chinese food but in the morning (before 10am) they all serve breakfast. The usual breakfast offerings are available (eggs, bacon, biscuits, french toast, etc) and at the Chinese counter - fried rice.

Its really a horrible way to end your vacation...bleh

I think the Chinese counter next to Burger King serves a decent breakfast plate for around $6. Not gourmet, but palatable and convenient.

Are all these spots really open at 5:30am?

I%26#39;m not expert but at most airports the various kiosks %26amp; fast food are closed at that hour.

We flew out at that sort of time last time, and bought some fresh fruit to eat at the airport before we were waiting to board (can%26#39;t bring it through the airport with you), and had wrapped sandwiches in our hand luggage (which i think is ok - we didn%26#39;t get asked any questions?!) but once we got on the plane we slept anyway!

That Burger King by Hawaiian is open before 5AM.

Try a sausage Croissanwich and you probably won%26#39;t be hungry the rest of the day :(

We flew out a few weeks back now, but there was nothing open at that time, except Starbucks.. As we were walking down to our gate at around 7.30am we saw the %26#39;food court%26#39; opening. But we just had to wait to get food on the plane.
