which hotel in wakikki

hi all,

i am looking to travel to Hawaii - Oahu next month or begining June with my wife. both of us are mid 20%26#39;s. it will be our first trip to Hawaii and have chosen Oahu over Maui and the other islands simply because we have heard oahu is more lively, more to do, and good nightlife. also some nice beaches.

we are struggling on which hotel, ideally thinking on wakikki beach itself with an oceantfron room though these can be expensive.

can anyone comment on this? so far i have looked into Outrigger Reff - oceanfront wihch is about $299 a night, thats a bit steep. There is also Aston Wakikki Beach hotel, though does not look the greatest. Have heard that Embassy suites is really nice as well as Hyatt?

thanks!

When are you going-yes, Hyatt is nice, ask for AAA rate, Outrigger on the Beach would be a good choice for young adults, Embassy Suites is nice, but not on the beach, you probably could get rooms in your budget at the Moana Surfrider, are you a member of SPG, join, it is free, good luck, and enjoy the tropical paradise,

which hotel in wakikki

can anyone reccommend any more?

what are differences between outrigger reef and outrigger beach?

thanks in advance

sorry to bug all.

but i been asked to post this question on the oahu forum, hopefully there are some oahu experts out there!

ok im getting somewhere now. Have selected Outrigger Reef over Outrigger Beach and any of the Aston Hotels.

Search and comparison continues......

Embassy Suites is nice...pool is pretty nice and is directly across from the Outrigger Reef. Embassy Sujites gives you a free breakfast each day and managers reception in late afternoon...Outrigger Reef is a fave of ours...we were there in August and I understand their renovations are complete now. Perhaps try thru Orbitz or Kayak to get reduced rates...or go with ocean view as opposed to oceanfront...How much time do you actually spend in your room looking at the water??? Get out and go ON the beach...you can look at it all you want there...also a good choice for twenty yearish would be the Outrigger Waikiki...where Dukes is...you get a youger crowd there and it is right in the center of things...Good Luck

I%26#39;d agree Rickster,

wish someone could help out with:

1. Which tower (Pacific is Higher vs Ocean is closer). What are differences in rooms sizes and amenities between the 2 towers - if any?

2. Some say a Diamond Head Ocean view room is better than Ocean Front at the Reef (view-wise at least). (They say Reef Ocean Front kind of just looks at water?)

3. Is there much difference between the least Ocean View room and the best Partial View room besides $50? Again, which tower/floor has the best Partial View rooms?

4. Can you be sure you%26#39;re getting Diamond Head side if you spring for a Ocean View - I%26#39;d think it would be better for 1st timers compared with the West side view?

So, now I need to decide between Outrigger Vs Embassy Suites......

Whats everyones opinions? OR is there better hotel in the same price range like these two?

which of the two have a better location on Wakikki?

I presume outrigger reef is newer than the beach one? heard it was renovated last year, is this al complete?

guys and girls pleaseeee help me decide between the below

Outrigger Reef

Outrigger Beach

Outrigger Wakikki Shore

Embassy Suites

Ideally looking for a oceanview but I guess a partial ocean view is not bad either? ideally looking for with breakfast? if you guys think its worth it?

what rates could I be looking at? ranging between $209-$299

i am coming from london uk with my wife, looking to attend between end of may and early june for 7 days if we can afford it....

Just a note....

The freshly renovated rooms at the Reef are the finest in Waikiki at the moment, and the beachfront ones are spectacular.

I was in one a couple of weeks ago and was beyond impressed; Outrigger really out-did themselves for a welcome change. They have meaningfully increased the size of the beachfront rooms, making the totally new bathrooms now very spacious with great light and window features.

At $299 a night, although that is a lot of money, they are still a great value and absolutely will not disappoint.

word of caution. i hear the reef has completed their renovations but their is major construction going on within an adjacent property which is noisy and spoils the ambience. ann anyone confirm?
