It%26#39;s about 7 miles from the Marriott in Lihue to Smith%26#39;s Luau. In normal traffic, it will take about 15 minutes.

I would concur. About 15 minutes. Just slow down and look very carefully for the signs, on the left hand side of the road. Easy to miss.

If indeed you are at the marriot, in Lihue,at Kalapali Beach, easy drive. Look at your map,and take kapule highway (51), instead of going up to the main road from Rice Street.

It will connect you back with Kuhio Highay ( 56).

Also as you approach the wailua area, stay in the left lane, do not take the small and old narrow bridge on the right...stay left.

Just before the bridge, you will see a faded sign for Smiths and the marina...left turn into there.

As advised, it is easy to miss.

Look at map page 59 in the Ultimate Kauai Guide book, and you will see the 5 mile marker...your turn will be about 1/2 mile after that, just before the bridge.

It is important to be in the left lane, main road, toward the main bridge...right lane is not going to work out so well.

Email or call Smith%26#39;s, they offer free shuttle service to and from their luau depending upon where you are staying- free designated driver- we%26#39;re in!

I have never seen a Smith%26#39;s van pick up anyone from Princeville. If you find tout they do please let us know.
