Food Pantry?

We are cleaning up - and have a significant amount of nonperishable food left - is there a food pantry to which we could donate on our way to the airport from the Northshore?

The Food Bank is past the airport (coming from the north) about a mile or so. If you turn left when the highway ends at Rice Street you continue past the Marriott, then the shopping centers and in about another 400 yards you%26#39;ll see some old warehouses on the left side. If you start to head back up the hill you%26#39;ve gone too far.

Alternatively, you could drop off stuff at the Hanalei fire station. I%26#39;m pretty sure the fire dept is helping with their current food drive.

The fire station is a great idea! Thanks, sippican, for bringing this topic up! We always have food left over and I don%26#39;t like housekeeping to have to throw away any non perishables! Have a safe trip home and I am sorry you didn%26#39;t have more nicer days and the Catamaran trip.

The housekeeping staff appreciates it too. My staff donates it to a man who has difficulty getting out of his house and to the store. Non perishables can be bagged and left with a note for the housekeepers or you could call them before to see if that%26#39;s OK. The food bank is also a great idea.

The Food Bank is still by Island Liquidators. We just dropped off a bunch of stuff.

Yes, thanks for asking the question! We always have left over food and since we are not staying in the same house in June, I%26#39;m not sure I want to leave anything at the condo.

Thanks - we%26#39;ll check to see there hours, and drop it off on our way to the airport.

(Bet our caretaker here will love the ';liquid refreshments'; we are leaving behind - it%26#39; enough for another week of partying!)

We have a good friend in our condo complex that get%26#39;s our liquid leftovers!

Just an update - the Food Pantry is only open on weekdays. Too bad, I bet with some PR they%26#39;d get donations on weekends from the condo check-outs.

Luckily, when we stopped by, someone was painting and gladly took our donation.

Also, the street address is listed as the road that runs behind the building, so our Garmin took us on a joy ride!
