We are using AMEX points to stay on K%26#39;aanapali Beach on Maui.

Honeymooned at Hyatt Regency Maui and would like to stay there, but can%26#39;t use AMEX to book concierge level. Might upgrade us, but not %26#39;til the day we arrive. We really like it especially at an expensive place to help out with meal/snack/drink costs!

Could stay at Westin or Sheraton and get the concierge guaranteed. Ordinarilly, Westin Hotels are nicer than Sheratons. But on Maui I heard the Sheraton has a great beach. You can snorkel right off their black beach. And, it%26#39;s the closest to Whaler%26#39;s Village.

Anyone that has stayed at atleast two of these and can compare for me?

Has the Sheraton been renovated lately?

I appreciate any comments/feedback.

At the Sheraton it is not a black beach, but Black Rock, a promentary with great snorkeling around it! Actually the Westin is closest to Whaler%26#39;s Village, the Sheraton is farther down the boardwalk. We have stayed at the Westin and the Sheraton, we like the Sheraton. If you are SPG check out the Westin Villas as well.

Guess I was all confused! Thanks for the clarification. Can you walk to Whaler%26#39;s village from the Sheraton? How are the guest rooms there?

Yes it%26#39;s a nice walk, although there is also a free shuttle between the properties and into Lahaina.

We prefer the Sheraton. It is on a better part of the beach and to us is more romantic. The Westin tends to attract more families because of the water slides. The Sheraton has a nice lagoon pool and oceanfront pool bar. The grounds are expanisve. The walk along the beachfront to Whaler%26#39;s Village is very pleasant. The Shearton was renovated in 2005(?).

The Sheraton is 3 hotels away from the Whalers Village.

Not so much better section but try to get a room as close to Blackrock as you can as this is a big ,expansive property as getting from one side to another can be a really long walk.
