Vacation Rentals in Non VDA areas

The Council is still fiddling with this subject

';Another tweaking that the five-member committee sent along to the full council dealt with the Planning Department’s handling of submitted registration applications for temporary vacation rentals.

If passed by the seven-member council, the bill would require the department to publish all completed applications on its Web site, www.kauai.gov/planning, by March 2 and would arrange for the public to have “ample” time to view and comment on the applications before they are acted upon by the department, Bynum said.

Kaneshiro said the application deadline was Oct. 15, and the department must act on all applications by March 30. Original wording requiring the department to allow the public 10 days to view a given application before action was taken out of the final item, Kaneshiro said, noting the department had promised to maintain that standard even if not compelled by law.';

That%26#39;s the bit I found interesting. But the battle continues on Ag land issues.
