Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club ???????

PLEASE help me all the way from Dallas, Texas!! We want to come to Kauai in mid August with our three year old son (for our wedding). So far, the Marriott on the South side is looking great because it is by the beach and is two bedrooms with a full kitchen. BUT.....since we have not seen it in person, we don%26#39;t know if it is good or bad. Can some of you wonderful locals PLEASE let me know if it is a good choice? We are thinking the kitchen might help us save money since we hear that restaurants there are very, very expensive. Your thoughts???

Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club ???????

I have been at the Marriott Waiohai and visited just last month. It is indeed very nice! The condos are very well appointed - I think they are far better than they appear in the pictures. And the grounds are simply lovely. If that is the right price range for you, it is an excellent choice. Great location. For beach front 2bdrm with a little one - wow! Should be good.

The Waiohai has a very definite resort feel to it. The beach can%26#39;t be beat. There are several pools as well.

If the price range is high, though, there may be other properties you should look at in Poipu. There will be several others here who, I am sure, will supply you with specific links to check out (I%26#39;m lousy at getting them in). There are many condos in the area. Their proximity to the beach, no. of bdrms, etc. will guide you. It may be that Waiohai is the right one for you. Again, the units are excellent and air conditioned, too.

Good luck. You will love Kauai!

Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club ???????

Yes this Marriott is very nice and your little one would enjoy it but they are expensive in my opinion. These are timeshare condos so you might find someone wanting to rent out their week maybe through a site like Redweek. This Marriott has a nice pool, great location in Poipu and is beachfront. Again $$$$.

Also look at The Pointe. Again timeshares, but good pool for a little one overlooking the water. Large 2 bedrooms and walking distance to The Grand Hyatt.

Our family has stayed at the Waiohai several times and think that it is perfect for a family. The units are large and well-appointed, poipu beach is steps away, and for your son there is a small playground as well as a wading pool attached to one of the main pools. The kitchen and full laundry are important for our family of 5 - we cook/barbeque most of our meals.

If you are going for your wedding, you may want to consider bringing a family member to ';babysit'; as the units are large enough for several more people. It is expensive if renting through Marriott; either look into their preview package deals or renting through an owner (redweek.com or http://tug2.com/timesharemarketplace/). Congrats!

we also stayed there and it is very nice. HOWEVER, be sure not to get a room that the balcony overlooks the parking lot...

You can%26#39;t go wrong there.

What is particularly nice for little ones is the small kids pool sitting directly on the waterfront. This pool was there when the grounds were the home of the old Stouffer%26#39;s Waiohai Resort. The resort was destroyed by the hurricane but this small kids pool was salvaged. This pool is a nice location for the parents and the little ones

We jog a lot in the evening and what%26#39;s really nice about the Waiohai is that there are always families in the pool and on the grounds at night...those chaise lounges are perfect for watching the moon over the water. It%26#39;s a really beautifully-kept place, too.

These are from almost 3 years ago and I didn%26#39;t think to take photos of the room our relatives were in, but it%26#39;s a very nice place with a very safe beach (under normal weather circumstances). Photos are here.

Our friends were there in July with their daughter, sil and 3 year old Grandchild. They loved it, and couldn%26#39;t stop talking about the pools and the lovely beach. They traded their Marriott timeshare in advance for a nice ocean view unit.

    1. Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club, located on gorgeous Poipu Beach, is beautiful in its beauty. It is a perfect place for you and your family to have a nice weekend in the Hawaiian Islands.
