Free or Lowcost activity suggestion for group of 10 to 20

Other then snorkeling and hanging around the resort, and maybe a drive to the volcano. . .

does anyone have any suggestions for an activity we can all to together?

How about Iao? Can%26#39;t recall if you went there before - but it%26#39;s gorgeous. Just before you get to the Iao Needle you will see on your left, Kepaniwai Heritage Gardens which has several little huts that represent the different cultures that settled the island - (your boys would probably dig it) and there are Koi ponds, big banyan tree, it%26#39;s lovely. Pack up a big picnic and enjoy after Iao (I prefer Iao early in the day). Some could hike all the way up and others can stroll the easy pathways.

Another idea would be the winery and Surfing Goat dairy. You mentioned heading up to Haleakala - careful with the altitude and your boys or older folks.

Check the surf report and go watch the action at Hookipa.

Isn%26#39;t one of your group staying at KBH? Not that it matters, but here again they offer free nightly entertainment and you could easily enjoy as little or as much of the food/drinks from Tiki Hut or Tiki Terrace (more high end, but not at all unreasonable).

Go fly a kite!

Get a video intructional for Hula and have everyone learn.

I%26#39;ll stop now...

ooooo thanks LesRose i totally forgot and no we didn%26#39;t go last time.

Humm. .that might beat the drive to the volcano too.

OMG i missed this the first read

';Get a video intructional for Hula and have everyone learn';

my last email to the group was that we%26#39;d better skip any boat trips. .even ferry to lanai.

Followed up with ';Guess we%26#39;ll all just stay at the resort and learn the hula!'; :-)

too funny. I%26#39;m definitely mapping out a trip to Iao ..thanks again soo much.

Maybe you could ';charter'; you own small ship for a dinner cruise or whale watching excursion. Would that be too boring?

Oh you did say lowcost sorry Swirlz! I see many families go to the beach and have a really big cookout etc. Is that too rugged? I%26#39;ll keep thinking!

well we%26#39;ll be BBQ at the resort most nights so lots of ';cookouts';

and ya, not big spenders this time around :) Charter WAY out of the question. . .hard enough getting everyone to say yes to paying for OLL, but thats my wedding receiption pretty much so i%26#39;m not letting them say no!

Swirlz...don%26#39;t forget the nightly hula shows at the WKOV! How about the drive to the winery with a stop in Makawao and another at the lavender farm?

hmmmm........that just about sums it up doesn%26#39;t Swirlz? Guess he forgot most of those things are NOT free or low cost!!!

101 things to do

within that list are some free or low cost things to do.

So MsFuzz is technically right, not all are free or low cost, but maybe msfuzz overlooked the good in the post....oh well

Wow that is a GREAT list! Thanks for sharing it!
