Anyone stayed at Sleeping Giant cottage in Wailua?

We are heading back to Kauai next May and have decided to forego beachfront in order to stay longer (10 days!). We are considering Sleeping Giant cottage (through VRBO)...it is off Kamalu on Heamoi...what attracts us to it, other than the privacy, is the location. Sounds like you can bypass Kapa%26#39;a when heading north or south, which I think is a grand idea!

Anyone know anything of this rental, or the location? Mahalo in advance!

know the location. you are correct that you can go down Kuamoo when heading south and Olohena when heading north. No need to hit the kapaa crawl. You%26#39;re about 4 miles from Lydgate -- 10 min tops.

Olohena is a pig at night though. dark and twisty.

no idea re the unit itself. from the address looks like its right at a trailhead for the Sleeping Giant trail. Quiet area.

Did you end up staying at the Sleeping Giant Cottage? If so, how was it, we are looking at it for a rental in May 2007.

Mahalo

We have the cottage reserved for May 1-10 ... so can%26#39;t tell you much yet! The owner is very nice, lives on Kauai. Price is right! We are excited to be staying off the beaten path this time, and hope it turns out to be ';as advertised';.

If anyone has stayed there in the last year or so, could you please comment? I am also considering it for May 2009.

Mahalo!
