Sealodge vs Hanalei Bay Resort

Has anyone stayed at both? What are the pros and cons of each? Any recommendation to which would be better? Thank you.

Sealodge vs Hanalei Bay Resort

Sealodge vs HBR:

Sealodge: Smaller, good views, no a/c, small pool, poor beach access, much more budget friendly if renting a one bedroom. If renting a one bedroom and there%26#39;s 4 of you it will be tight.

HBR: Large units, good views (most of the condos), more flexibility in size and budget to choose from, great lagoon pool, 8 tennis courts, more of a ';hotel'; feel because you have a front desk and concierge, large lanais, good beach access via paved path and bellman can drive you down, a/c. Bar to reopen soon.

Apples to oranges in my opinion. Sealodge can be very good for budget minded travelers while HBR is great for honeymooners and people who appreciate a more Hawaiian feel to their lodging. Sealodge is ugly from the outside. If anyone says it isn%26#39;t is lying. The views are great in MOST units. Views are great in 3/4 of HBR units. Do not rent through anyone but a private owner.

Hope this helps. PM if you have any other questions.

Might depend on exactly what you are looking for in your accomodations.

We have stayed a Hanalei Bay Resort, and have toured one of the units at Sea Lodge, as well.

The units:

When walking into the sea lodge condo, it was pretty nice, and we liked it. Actualy, we were looking for a full time lease, and wound up talking with the site manager in his unit.

When walking into 4222 at the Hanalei Bay Resort, it was amazing. Rated a '; super wow '; on the richter scale. All kinds of warm fuzzies, from the unit itself, the ambiance, how it was appointed, the large lanai, and view of hanalei bay, and bali hai.

The HBR pool is very, very nice, and has a tropical setting, with water falls, and little coves.

At that time the bali hai restaurant and the happy talk lounge were open, and we enjoyed the happy talk, and having a meal there, as well as a sundowner.

Again, it depends on what appeals to you. We have seen both, and if given a choice, we would chose the Hanalei Bay Resort.

If we had not stayed at the HBR, and only seen Sealodge, we would have loved our stay at sealodge.

But , you asked to compare them, and there you have it.
