Scuba diving info please...

I%26#39;d like to surprise my husband with a scuba diving excursion for our 1 yr anniversary present while we%26#39;re on Oahu and/or the Big Island.

Does anyone know if there are tours that one can go on without taking scuba lessons and getting certified? Or are there excursions that can be done in 1 whole day?

We are going to be on Oahu this SAturday 1/10 and will be going to the BI on Wednesday 1/14.

Scuba diving info please...

Where will you be staying on the Big Island?

Scuba diving info please...

So is he certified?

You must be certified to scuba dive. It%26#39;s a saftey issue for you and the dive company. And quite frankly the ';2 hour pool certifications'; make me VERY nervous. If you are NOT certified I suggest that you look at a tour that offers Snuba, FairWind on Kona is one option. To be certified for Scuba takes months of training, it%26#39;s not something you do once like Ziplining! Snuba may be your best option for a taste.

no, he is not certified... what is ';snuba';? and where can i find info for that activity?

thanks!

Snuba is basically wearing a scuba mask and being connected to a central air tank with a bunch of other folks, looks a bit like a large octopus! As I mentioned when we were on The Big Island a few years ago www.fair-wind.com was offering Snuba on their snorkel sails. Many of the larger boats offer it. Good luck

Check with Steve %26amp; Lara at Sandwich Isle Divers in Kona for cerification. http://www.sandwichisledivers.com/

We%26#39;ll be staying on the Kona side at Outrigger

owing to safety issues.....I beleive no boats are offering this SNUBA... Fairwinds stopped it some time ago. Onlu in front of the King Kam....there was one guy about 2 years ago.....not sure if he is there anymore.

Intoduction to diving ....is not fast...you have to make out health and physical questions, and have an approval prior to the trip. Kona Hounu Divers has a good boat and introduction program...not all dive operations want to do this. Ithe intro dive is not a tour its a lesson.

There are no tours where a non certified person can participate on a dive trip.
