hawaii gold card

Hi,

We have some friends coming back from Maui, and they said they saved lots of money using either the GoldCard (http://www.goldcard.hawaiifun.org/), or the Hawaii Entertainment Book. I just took a look at them and it seems that they are not quite useful at Kauai. Am I wrong?

We never bothered with them when traveling here for just this reason. We did use our local Entertainment book for hotel reservations on occasion, but you can get the same deals from www.hotels.com.
