Help! I%26#39;m going to Honolulu in March and I found a good deal (I think) on a 2bd/1.5 bath Condo in Kuhio Plaza (on Kuhio Ave). I%26#39;ve heard some not so great things about the area...does anyone know? I want to feel safe. Is this a nice building? What about the area?
Kuhio Plaza - Waikiki
Don%26#39;t know about the building but the surrounding area is nice enough. Its on the quieter end of Waikiki but still within walking distance of most of the activities.
Kuhio Plaza - Waikiki
It is fairly close to the center of Waikiki about 1 block inland from Duke%26#39;s statue. Decent location %26amp; safe. Don%26#39;t know anything about the property.
Lots of Oahu info:

Actually a group my girlfriends stayed their last September, it was a privately owned condo for very cheap but you get what its worth. So it depends who owns the condo and how they upkeep it. The condo we had was dirty, lots of cochroaches, the beds were not comfortable, springs jabbing out. But the location was prime and we not once felt unsafe. We walked everywhere. Shopping is right near and clubs. So hopefully this helps you out. Have fun. Im planning on going this September too i just can%26#39;t stay away from Hawaii!!
We stayed there in 06 at the Kuhio Banyan Club--a timeshare condo. It was really small and only had a murphy bed. We don%26#39;t stay in the room much, so it was okay for us. The staff was really nice and helpful. Parking was off-site at another hotel for about $25.00 per day. It is easily accessible and if you don%26#39;t want to venture away from Waikiki, there really is no need to rent a car. We like to explore the islands, so we rented one, but later wished that we had only rented one for just part of our stay.
Another thing--there is a nightclub in the little plaza area that gets really loud at night. We were at the other end on the 2nd floor and still didn%26#39;t sleep too much...but hey, we were in paradise, so who cares??
