Big Island or Maui and Where to Stay

Husband and I went to Maui last Feb. Stayed at Nohonani Condos and love it except it was overcast and/or rainy almost every day. (But convenient as I walked out the lanai 30%26#39; to water and jumped in). Because of the hit or miss weather, I%26#39;m thinking about the BI. Seems I need to look at Kohala Coast if I want to snorkel without driving. Found a couple of condos in Kona for good rate (Kona Reef), but the water looks inaccessible and too rough for snorkeling. There are a couple of rentals up the coast I%26#39;m looking at: Niu Cottage, Kiawe House, Hale Okalani, and Ehu Kai. Need beachfront and want to stay under $250/nt. If anyone has any advice/comments on the above, I%26#39;d appreciate it.

Big Island or Maui and Where to Stay

Need a beach front for under $250 a night...and good snorkeling..... not on this island my friend... Beaches and snorkeling do not go well together.

We only have 6 hotels that are beachfront Four season $800, Kona Village $500, Mauna Kea $450, Mauni Lani $400 Fairmont %450, Marriott $350.

Actualy....The King Kam has a beach small and you can swim and snorkel....its only $120 a night and its calm too. Outrigger has fantactic snorkeling but no beach in a 8 acre lagoon. about $150.

The Kohala coast ( from Kona North in winter is rough and windy with marginal to poor snorkeling)

There is one condo....Kolea.. the only condo on the island which is beacfront.....aroung $500+ a night

Kohala is the dryest and sunniest place in the state...but in winter can get weather ...like the weather we had yesterday. It will be hit and miss between Nov to April... on all Islands the more north you go in the state the wetter it gets and on each island...
