Hi all! First timer needs some help!!

My future husband and I are looking to plan our honeymoon to Hawaii, the first two weeks of december....other than Maui, which other island(s) are MUST sees? Keep in mind that I am NOT a good flyer, and won%26#39;t really be able to deal with small flights from island to island....thanks in advance!!

Lisa

Hi all! First timer needs some help!!

Congrats on your upcoming marriage. Maui is our favorite island and Kauai is our 2nd fav island.

Most of the inter-island flights are not on small planes. For example, we flew from Oahu to Maui last month with Hawaiian Airlines on a Boeing 717 which is a jet.

Hi all! First timer needs some help!!

Up to the left is the TA search function, use that and come back with somemore specific questions. Do some research hun, or you are gonna get blasted in these parts. Buy the book ';Hawaii for dummies'; sorry the title is offensive but it will help you plan your trip

Thanks for the tip ';hun';. I%26#39;ve been doing that as well...just figured that I would ask for personal opinions and experiences.

Lots of info including sites with free brochures for all islands:

OK..so you are spending what per day? For how many days? You asked for ';must see%26#39;s'; on the ISLANDS! OK Niihau is off the list. Sorry if I offended you but this is asked at least twice a day, every day, on this board. All I suggested is a ';search';

mamma,

I was not asking for must sees on the islands, I was asking which other island was one to not be missed. I should have posed my question a little better.

With two weeks, you could sample two islands. Kauai and Maui are #1 and #2 honeymoon destinatiions in Hawaii. The first part of December also means low rates, so you can save there.

You might want to include a few days on Waikiki, too. I%26#39;d plan a week on Maui and split another week between Kauai and Oahu. Both Kauai and Oahu feel smaller than they are -- Kauai because so much of it is vertical and unreachable except by hiking or on a helicopter tour, and Oahu because so much of it is covered in %26#39;city%26#39;. You have to drive out to the east and north shores to see Oahu%26#39;s rural beauty.

Do you want hotels or condos, or a combination?

Not to worry over the interisland flights. People in Hawaii treat them like busses: hop on; up and down in 20 minutes; hop off. The biggest annoyance is the mandatory and time-consuming security nonsense.

mamma, ';hun';,

';Do some research hun, or you are gonna get blasted in these parts.'; ?? ouch! Where is your aloha spirit? And your reading glasses?

Lisa, congrats on your impending marriage. I%26#39;d suggest Oahu for a couple of days. Lots to do there. Then head to Maui for an entirely different experience.

Hi, and congratulations!

If you don%26#39;t like to fly, you could always take the Superferry over to Oahu from Maui..or the other way around..instead of flying.

It takes longer, (a few Hrs.?)but it%26#39;s not flying and you may enjoy the sights of the island from the ship..

We were going to do this, but we decided to stay on Maui.

5 nights west Maui( for some nightlife, and great snorkeling), and 5 nights Hana( for quiet, and nature hikes)

No matter what you decide, I hope you have a wonderful trip!

LDZZZ - will you be flying into HNL or into Maui directly? I understand that hesitation on smaller planes, (have the same issue myself) however there are jets a good sized one rather than a propeller.

If you are flying into Oahu before going to Maui then why not stop there for a few days and then go on to Maui.

Each of the islands are very different, so perhaps with a little bit more info on what you are looking to do it would simplify things for those of us trying to guide you. As you will soon see everyone has a favorite, or at least a top two amongst the islands.

The first two weeks of December will be a quiet time on the islands - another good reason to explore Oahu then.

Another suggestion is to spend the entire time on Maui, but you could shift from South Maui to West Maui and find two different worlds, throw in Hana and there is an additional %26#39;world%26#39;. Take a day trip to either Lanai or Molokai via the smaller ferry that leaves Lahaina.
