Trying to help plan a Hawaii honeymoon for July and would like some advice. Thinking of Maui and also possibly one more island but not sure where. Also when planning a flight are you better doing an early flight there and an afternoon flight home. Flying from Indiana. Would like a nice beachfront at Maui with a moderate budget. There is sure alot to think about for this. Is a rental car really necesaary. Also I noticed there are several airports in Maui how do you choose the right one. Looking at the Laheina area is that the nicest beach area? Any help would be appreciated. Thx

Honeymoon Planning
When you say the Lahaina area, are you talking about Kaanapali beach? Many of the hotels etc have Lahaina addresses, but are really in Kaanapali.
What is moderate for you? What are you hoping to find? For example, the Mahana condos are beachfront (just north of Kaanapali)and are a good value. However, the beach is not great for swimming. What are you willing to give up for the budget? For a honeymmon in July, I would want air conditioning. Many condos do not have it.
If you want a moderate resort, the Kaanapali Beach Hotel may be for you. It is not luxury, but it is in a great beachfront location on Kaanapali beach. It will cost you more than the Mahana for oceanfront.
Also be aware that many condos are oceanfront, but not beachfront. Be sure that you know what you are getting. You can check wizardpub in Google for aerial views of the properties for free.
