Only one 'pricey' tour

I have been reading this forum diligently for a while now and have realized how expensive some of the excursions really are!!! I LOVE the idea of relaxing in a tropical paradise, sipping mai tais on a lanai with the love of my life, watching sunsets and snorkeling on our own....all free or %26#39;almost%26#39; free ways to enjoy Maui.

Hubby and I have decided on Oahu for 3 nights and West Maui for 6 nights. The cost of flight and hotel alone are taking the bulk of our budget, but would like to %26#39;splurge%26#39; on ONE tour in Maui(other than Feast at Lele...already booked). Here%26#39;s what we%26#39;d like to do...

1. Ziplining in Kaanapali (approx $281 for two)

2. Day trip to Lanai on Trilogy (approx $414 for two)

3. Rain forest/waterfall hike with Eco Maui (approx $225 for two)

4. Heli tour (haven%26#39;t researched price, but heard wonderful and $$$$)

...trying to pick %26#39;just one%26#39; is really hard! Anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate it!!

Jackie =)

Maybe if the price of the Copter ride isnt too much,

you can do #3 and #4 and not have to pick just 1

The heli tour is worth every dime!! We took the tour of the west Maui mountains and Molokai. It was awesome!! The water falls and sea cliffs were amazing! Would do it again in a minute! I think we payed $500 for the two of us.

Ive done Triology Both in 07 and last july-loved it both times(see my review)Worth every penny

We went to Lanai with Maui Adventure Cruises for about half that amount per person, with a three hour beach landing. You could do that and a short helicopter ride for what the Trilogy trip would cost.

Thanks all for the great advise! The helicopter tour really looks great!!!

I%26#39;m so sorry but just can%26#39;t resist.....I hope that you and your Ohio State buddies aren%26#39;t taking that wonderful loss too badly!!

Taking it MUCH better than the last two BCS games!! ;-) ...and considering we lost this game with 38 secs to go to the team who %26#39;should%26#39; be in the title match...I%26#39;m not too bummed. Surprisingly haven%26#39;t been too harassed about the loss either...I do live in hostile territory...

Glad you are alive and well and taking my ribbing like I meant it to be. I%26#39;m not a Texas fan but a BIG 12 fan. I bet it is hard to live in enemy territory, seems things are going well!!

Trilogy to Lanai. It%26#39;s an all day event! Great lunch. Great crew. Great snorkeling. See some whales up close if it%26#39;s whale season ... and defintely some dolphins! Learn about Lanai and tour the island. So nice to be out on the water ... we have used them 4 times and highly recommend. Take the morning tour.

Break down these events by cost-per-hour - and you%26#39;ll see that Trilogy is the best bet.

(FYI, I had food poisoning (somewhere in Lahaina) during our trip last month and couldn%26#39;t go on my Trilogy catamaran trip. I valiantly sent DH - who had a wonderful time, as always. So think of me ... BTW, Trilogy refunded my money promptly. Thanks, Trilogy.

Hmmmm - tough choice. All very different kinds of experiences. The Heli tours are pretty amazing, though. And give you a wonderful overview of the island you won%26#39;t otherwise see. But they are pricey - will run you $150 and up per person. Here are some link for you to check out...
