Safari Boat Excursions - Must Do???

okay so after all my post about not spending $ or planning activities i really started ready all the reviews of Safari Boat Excursions

I couldn%26#39;t find any pricing on their site but came across this page

www.travelhawaii.com/maui_whale_watching.php

that shows $40 for adults and kids 2-12 free. . .i%26#39;ve emailed the company for rates and any group discounts.

for a 2 hr whale watching tour this is starting to seem more and more like something I should book for one of our mornings and just surprise everyone.

Anyone care to share their thoughts about this?

Safari Boat Excursions - Must Do???

Don%26#39;t know about their whale watch but a friend used

Safari Boat Co (in Sept) for a family Lanai trip and was very inpressed with the company.

Safari Boat Excursions - Must Do???

We are interested in the Safari Boat Excursions as well, but are thinking about booking the snorkeling trip to Lanai. On the travelhawaii.com site the price is listed at $109 as opposed to the regular price of $139. I couldn%26#39;t find any prices on the SBE web site as well. Even with the discount, for the 4 of us, that%26#39;s a bit steep.

I think the 2 hr. whale watching tour you%26#39;re interested in sounds great for $40. I am still undecided about booking on line though.

Swirlz, checked out the travelhawaii web-site and it looks wonderful to me. It isn%26#39;t as cheap as the Pacific Whale Foundation trips, but offer more in the way of drinks and snacks. It looks like you won%26#39;t get the multitudes of people either like you do on the PWF boats. I%26#39;d go for it!!

Our family of 6 did the Safari Excursion in October. Our four adult/teen boys loved this excursion as did my DH and I. It was adventurous, exciting, fun and they went the extra mile to make this an adventure to remember! Well worth a few extra $$$ for the memories and our 3 snorkel stops were great and NOT crowded.

katrinamOntario - when are you going? Did you see the lanai trips end Dec 6th and start back up in April.

They only have the Whale watching Dec to April.

Yes, you%26#39;re right. I just looked on the site. I wonder why they are only doing a 2 hr. tour and not the Lanai trip??

BTW, we%26#39;ll be there Feb. 13-23.

they%26#39;ve only got the one boat I believe and they have 3 whale watching tours. . .or maybe that was 4 or 5 but i%26#39;m pretty sure the Lanai one was a full day excursion.

The whale watching still seems great and like you have a chance to get some great views.

I asked about rates for a group of 20 to see if any discounts. . .the one site i found did at least have kids free so i%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll do it but want to see if it would be the same to charter our own for the whole group. . one review said the boat only holds like 18 but other sites i saw it holds 30 something.

If i got everyone in our group to commit then we might fill a boat :)

I think I may look into doing the 2 hour whale tour if that%26#39;s all they%26#39;re offering this time of year. My 12 yr. old son really wanted to snorkel and see whales while we are in Maui. We are staying in Kaanapali so we could do the tour and take him snorkeling near black rock.

Now I just have to find a surf school for my daughter!

Just a quick note that I called a few months ago and the minimum age was 5 years at that time. Perhaps they%26#39;ve moved it down to 4, but I doubt they%26#39;ve moved it all the way to 2. I%26#39;m sure it has to do with the size of the boat and insurance or something. But the size of the boat will allow for better whale watching, getting around faster.
