I asked this question within another post, but didn%26#39;t really get an answer.
After staying in Maalaea Bay this past Christmas and experiencing the wind there on a number of occasions, I would have to think twice before staying there again if I thought it might be even windier in the summer(which is when we are considering going next time).
The reason I like staying in that area is the central location, the lack of crowds and the price.
But one can only take so much wind!
Please advise !
Is it windier in summer or winter in Maui?
In tradewind weather...Ma%26#39;alaea is always windy.
That%26#39;s why it is not as developed as the other areas (+cane smoke).
Many have the same reaction as you did ';Liked the price....can only take so much wind';
Is it windier in summer or winter in Maui?
Just did a google search as I was curious at what the answer was. Check out windfinders.com The wind speed in June, July and August is 17 kts. The average is 14. So, yes it is a little windier in the summer months, but not much!!
