Does Hapuna Beach Hotel have surfing off the beach?

Does anyone know if you can surf in front of the Hapuna Beach Hotel? Do they rent surfboards there?

Also, are the beach umbrellas and chairs free?

but surfing is illegal at Hapuna, so no you cannot.

Bodyboarding only, too many past problems with surfboards injuring swimmers.

If you are a guest of the hotel, the chairs are free. If you are not a guest, you cannot use them even for a fee. Most people who aren%26#39;t hotel guests and walk in from the public parking use those roll up mats.

I can%26#39;t tell from your post if you%26#39;re an experienced surfer. If you are not, there are only a couple places on the Big Island where you can try surfing. Locals are very territorial on the few surf breaks and you will not be allowed in unless you totally know what you%26#39;re doing and all about surf etiquette.

Kahalu%26#39;u is where novice surfers go.
