Royal Lahaina Luau Vs Old Lahaina Luau

I hear that the OLL is the best Luau in town but doesnt have a fire show. The Royal Lahaina Luau has one, but the food isnt as good. For a family of 4 (2 kids under 11), Royal Lahaina costs a total of ~$100 (kids go free), while OLL costs upwards of $300 for everyone. Is the OLL experienc 3+ times better?

We eat fish, beef, chicken - but no pork/pig products. Are Luau%26#39;s primarily pig meat oriented, or will we still leave full and happy :)?

Thanks much for everyones great advice as always!

Royal Lahaina Luau Vs Old Lahaina Luau

Kids will like the Royal Lahaina Luau better because of the fire knife dancer %26amp; the variety of dances.

Royal Lahaina Luau has a kids menu in addition to the typical luau menu.

A typical luau menu has pork, chicken %26amp; fish.

For any other luau menu, google: Drums of the Pacific menu (or any other luau you might consider)

I%26#39;d have to say you%26#39;ll find enough to eat either way.

The Royal Lahaina had some good non-pork options when we were there. The only thing I thought was a bit lacking in terms of there food was the deserts.

We haven%26#39;t been to the OLL, but have seen their dancers perform at another function a couple of times. They are better IMO, but I don%26#39;t think the difference is huge, and as has been mentioned, the kids will love the RLL fire dancers.

If it were just me and my wife, I might consider the OLL. With the kids, the RLL seems to be a much better deal.

would agree that with kids the Royal lahaina luau.

Food was good, the kids food table was a good option of food, the fire knife dancing is good.

The whole show is a little zippier that Old Lahaina Luaus. The price difference is the icing on the cake.

The M C the night we went to Royal Lahaina was Ala Kai and she was hillarious and talented.

I too am having the same issue. I have a 5 and 17 year old. They may love or hate a luau. My husband and I have already gone to PCC on Oahu a few times, so for us it isn%26#39;t a big deal. If it weren%26#39;t for the kids we would do OLL. I just hate paying so much for something and then the kids be bored or not into it that much.

I am trying to decide between Royal Lahaina and Hyatt%26#39;s Drums of the Pacific. Royal Lahaina is definately cheaper for the 4 of us, but we may pay more for Drums of the Pacific. Plus we can walk over from the Marriott.

I have read the reviews on Trip Advisor and hear horror stories about food quality and the site being dirty etc at Royal Lahaina. From what I know both shows have large tables and lots of people. I guess for us we are going more for the show than the food. We like to spend our time during the day in search of local foods so food is not a big consideration... I just don%26#39;t want to get sick!

Other%26#39;s have captured my experience at the RLL pretty well. Decent food (mahi mahi was excellent!!), good fire knife show and the MC is GREAT. We found it to be an excellent overall value.

Thanks everyone! RLL it is :)

';Decent food (mahi mahi was excellent!!), good fire knife show and the MC is GREAT. We found it to be an excellent overall value.';

I agree 100% on the MC and the mahi mahi. It%26#39;s a fun atmosphere, without getting too cheesy or cliche, and the MC is a big part of that.

Just a quick question...

Is the Royal Lahaina Luau being spoken about the one that is held at the Royal Lahaina resort?

Thanks

Yes, at the Royal Lahaina resort. In some activity brochures it%26#39;s called ';Kaanapali Luau'; or something like that.

Thanks a lot
